This year, it was a given that we would repeat the wildly successful event on the last day of school. Being armed with the knowledge that this was happening, meant that I could be much more prepared and not only enlist the help of the other parents, but also reach out to my friends at Nerf!
Nerf didn't hesitate offering to be the official "sponsor" for our event and my boys were blown away that they would actually receive NEW Nerf Super Soakers for the party! Every day during the last week of school, they came home asking if the Super Soakers had arrived....and one day they did.
We ripped open the package to see (and test out) the latest in water blasters for this year (we all got a little wet and my plants got watered!)! My personal favourite was the NERF SUPER SOAKER SWITCH SHOT Blasters (it's as cool as the hose attachment that sprays; Jet, Mist, Full, but in a gun form!). Jayden chose that one for his special new weapon and Ty chose the NERF SUPER SOAKER ARCTIC SHOCK Water Blasters, which allows you to add ice cubes to give your opponents a super chilly shot!
We also decided that to have a little more fun, we would do a giveaway for two of the Super Soakers. Every kid that attended, got to put their name in a bucket for draw at the end of the party! It made it far more exciting, as the kids asked every ten minutes for when the winner would be drawn!
As the host, Ty got to stand on our front porch to pick the two winners! One girl from his class won the ARCTIC SHOCK and our friend Dylan was thrilled that he won the NERF SUPER SOAKER FLASH BLAST Water Blaster!
What an awesome new tradition to end the school year! Can't wait for 2014!

Disclosure: I received 5 Nerf super soakers (2 were given away as prizes), in exchange for this fun post. Thanks for supporting our 2nd party, Nerf!
Such a great tradition - definitely earns you some serious "cool Mom" points, for sure! :) I think E would kill me if I didn't try to get him one of these cool toys - after not being able to do a lot of fun-in-the-sun outdoor games last summer, this year we've made it our mission to make up for lost time and have a summer of fun - the sillier the better! I'm pretty sure he'd be over the moon if he could drown me with this super soaker - I might have to try & get a few shots in first! lol
ReplyDeleteMy son is 11-months old. So far our water fights have just been with the hose. He has a 9-year old cousin that we spend a lot of time with though and we have water fights with him when he comes to visit his Grandma. Why? Because it's fun!
ReplyDeleteMy son is almost 4 and he is OBSESSED with water! He loves the wading pool and splash pads. I know if I won these water guns for him and had a water fun he would LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I so love this idea and may just have to borrow it so I can get some 'cool Mom' points too!
ReplyDeleteMy girls love to play in the sprinkler & at the local splash pad and this would be perfect to get DH in on the game (well we'll get him in on it whether he wants to or not) AMBUSH!
This is such a fantastic way to end your school year and what a great tradition. I love water fights because it's a great way for me to pretend I'm a kid again : )
ReplyDeleteI love water fights because nobody expects 'Auntie Jenn' to come at them with water balloons!
ReplyDeleteLove water fights - great way to cool down with no pool required, esp on a day like today!
ReplyDeleteIt's the one season of the year I can unleash the fury and soak those little suckers. Whoops? Did I just say that. I mean because its a great family activity to do together yada yada. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHow about dads? Can we win too? 'Cause there's nothing we love more than soaking each other with water! And soon my youngest will be able to join the fun.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing you need to add to a water gun fight is a little dish soap! Clean the kids and have fun at the same time, its a win-win situation!!
ReplyDeleteAre you joking? Um because I get to unleash the fury on my kids once a year!
ReplyDeletethis would be awesome fun with my kids. we have a pool & they love water, why not add a little water gun fun too!
ReplyDeleteWe live upstairs of a triplex and have no air conditioning. With 3 boys, one of our favorite ways to stay cool is to have water fights out in the yard. The best part of course is getting them with unexpected water bombs (water balloons) that only I seem to be able to get. ;)
