Where do cool big kids go for haircuts in Richmond Hill?

Back when the kids were young, getting their haircut was all about sitting in the train chair, watching The Wiggles and bribing them with a lollipop (or two) at the end. Fast forward to my now 6 and 10 years olds and my boys are looking for cool style, something electronic, anything "guy" related and a chance to feel grown up!!!

Paul is usually in charge of the cuts for the boys- I mean, he knows the difference between a number one or two blade and knows when their need to get a tight fade (am I even saying that right?). Driving around the 'hood, he found Sport Clips at Leslie and Elgin Mills. It had just opened and looked like a very cool place to have some 'guy time' with his sons. Man, was he right!!! Not only did they get a cool cut, they got the MVP experience complete with a scalp massage, hot towel and neck massage!!!  The kids were hooked, not only on the massage, but on the location and atmosphere with tvs tuned to sports at every chair!!!

The irony is that just as the boys were living it up at Sport Clips, I was contacted about bringing in the boys to check it out!  Since they had all been raving about it, I couldn't wait to see what it was all about on their next visit.

Last week, we all went to Sport Clips and I instantly knew why they had called this place 'epic'!  'Stadium seating' and a huge tv while you wait, was just the start!  As the boys enjoyed the cut, wash, warm towel and massage, I got to see what made this place great in MY eyes. Sure, those things were making my kids happy, but I was thrilled to see that after every cut, the stylists don't grab a broom and pan, they grab a central vac and hygienically dispose of the hair! Brilliant (I realize this is completely lost on the kids, but parents will appreciate this!).

Sports Clips has two locations in the GTA- Leaside and Richmond Hill and if I haven't convinced you that you need to go, here are 10 great reasons to take your boys for the MVP experience;
1. Great father/son experience (moms can hit the nail salon)
2. TVs tuned to sports all day!
3. Stylists that know the latest styles
4. Stylists that can do designs or even your child's jersey number in their hair!
5. Clean and hygienic environment
6. Chance to give the kids the experience of a massage and warm towel
7. Prices that make sense for families (especially if you have more than one boy like me!)
8. Dads will WANT to help you with this monthly chore
9. Kids can brag about being an "MVP" to their buddies at school
10. You can now get the MVP for FREE until Feb. 28th or for the year, if you enter the contest below!
